Preparation
There’s a new mango in town. Sort of. It’s small, creamy, and sweet with a bright yellow skin that wrinkles when it’s ripe. Meet: the honey mango.
If you think you’ve seen this Mexican mango in stores before, you’re probably right. Formerly known as an Ataulfo mango (and sometimes called the champagne mango), this fruit has recently been renamed and rebranded by the National Mango Board because “Ataulfo” is not an easy name for many U.S consumers and retailers to pronounce.

One mango packs 100% of your daily vitamin C needs, as well as a rich dose of daily fiber and vitamin A. The new marketing campaign hopes to make the honey mango more popular, increasing awareness of its rich cultural roots and tasty health benefits. We love it for it’s sweet, juicy taste and adaptability, in everything from a lunchtime salad to a spicy, juicy snack to a three-ingredient dessert.
