HOW TO MAKE PRETZEL HOT DOGS-

PRETZEL dog DOUGH-
In a bowl, or kitchen aid mixer add the flour and salt.In a separate bowl, combine the warm water, melted butter, yeast, and sugar and allow the yeast to activate.Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and knead with the dough hook attachment until well combined.Cover the dough and allow it to rise for 1 hour.Bring water to a boil in a large pot, add in the baking soda and mix.
SHAPE the dough-
Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and roll out each piece into an 18-inch rope. Wrap the rope around a hot dog and pinch to seal the ends so the dough does not unfold. Repeat with all the dough.
WATER BATH & BAKING-
Add 3 at a time into the water bath for 30 seconds and remove with a large strainer spatula. Add the dogs onto the baking sheet. Top with coarse salt, this is optional.Bake them at 450F for about 14-16 minutes or until they are crispy and golden.Serve with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy!
