Preparation

With all the publicity that surrounds celebrities’ weddings, we can understand why they’d want to have an unplugged ceremony. In a new interview with People Now, Hilary Swank opened up about why she and her husband Philip Schneider decided to do just that.

According to Swank, banning mobile devices from her ceremony made the experience more “moving” because everyone was “in the moment.” “Everyone was quiet,” she said. “We didn’t have any mobile phones at the ceremony so people could really be in the moment. And then two friends, Karen and Willa Griffin, sang and my nephew Brandon played the guitar. Then Philip’s best friend Mischa Collins read a poem he’d written for us. It was just magic, and very moving.”

However, pinpointing the ceremony moment that moved her the most was difficult for the actress. “It’s hard to choose,” she said. “Being with my dad, but also when you walk down the aisle and see your soulmate waiting for you and all your loved ones who have made the journey and effort to be there.”

The couple tied the knot on August 18, 2018, after dating for two years. In an interview with Vogue, Swank called Schneider the “man of her dreams.” It’s clear that she still feels the same way-she told People that she knows he’s “the one.” “I have to say-he’s great,” she said. “It took a long time to get the right guy. I kissed a lot of frogs before getting here. There’s not anything I would really change about him.”
